How we can help

POOBI is a charitable organisation and we help Royal Mail Group & Royal Mail Ltd families with children who face hardship.

We can help by making:

Regular grants

These are sums of money paid quarterly that can help with for example, the cost of travelling to hospital appointments or could supplement income and benefits to provide additional help to children. For this scheme contact our Help Line via Feeling First Class support – this is a completely confidential advisory service, which is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week on 08006 888 777.

University Bursaries

This scheme helps families support a young person at University or equivalent institution in the UK. The bursaries or grants are currently worth £1,550 per year and are paid for a maximum period of three years subject to evidence of registration and academic performance, and for those going to University for the first time an additional grant of £300.

Rising Stars Bursaries

These are aimed at families with children (under the age of 18) who have proven potential in the areas of music (instrumental and vocal), dance (classic and modern), drama or film, sport and who would benefit from a Summer School course or specialist master class, or an audition and whose families would otherwise find difficulty in providing funding for this type of education or the travel costs associated with attending such a course or audition. We hope to be able to offer these bursaries again later this year. Please check your Courier for details later this year or this website. Please keep an eye on our website for news and information.
